You are my sunshine

You Are My Sunshine

My only sunshine.

You make me happy

When skies are grey.

You'll never know, dear,

How much I love you.

Please don't take my sunshine away

The other nite, dear,

He is my sunshine

My only sunshine.

He makes happy

Every single day

He'll never know, dear,

How much I love him

Until he has kids of his own!

Possible Future Baseball Star

Adrien had a rough start to his life. The first three months he was severely neglect due to ignorance. Due to this, Adrien has low muscle tone.....simply put, his muscles aren't as strong as most kids his age.....YET~ See my boy, picking up that ball and hoofing it.....he definitely has a pitching arm on him!
We have watched this little man gain strenght in his muscles, from a time when he would sit in a W to where he can squat without holding on to anything. Granted, he's still learning to walk, we have no doubt that he will master that with the same finesse he has mastered everything else in the four short months we have had the privilege of being his parents in....
Seriously though, how stunning is he?

The Hammock

n. (hăm"mŏk)
[A word of Indian origin: cf. Sp. hamaca. Columbus, in the Narrative of his first voyage, says: «A great many Indians in canoes came to the ship to-day for the purpose of bartering their cotton, and hamacas, or nets, in which they sleep.»]
1. A swinging couch or bed, usually made of netting or canvas about six feet long and three feet wide, suspended by clews or cords at the ends.

Just catching up

I know I'm posting a ton of posts in very little time, I'm trying to catch up....We have had Adrien since May and I want to keep a record of him since he came home.....so just enjoy it! and don't judge ;)
D
That is Adrien's new FAVOURITE word. I remember how excited I was the first time he used the NO in context.....it seems like a lifetime ago but in reality it was a mare two weeks ago.... Now everything....and I mean EVERYTHING is no...

Adrien, fix your leg NO

Adrien, time for bed NO

Adrien, give mama a kiss NO

Adrien, tidy up toys NO

Adrien, let's go out NO

Adrien, time for bottle nnnnn............yeshhhhhhhhh

Such a baby

Because we met Adrien when he was already 12 months old, it didn't feel like we had a "baby" but was I wrong......and now looking back at his pictures from 4 months ago and seeing what he is like today, at almost 17 months makes me realize we did have a baby........and I've got the pictures to prove it!

The first picture is of Adrien at home playing in the family room
The second picture is at Adrien's family shower at the end of June
The third picture is of Adrien on the cusp of sleep in the car in early June!

Our First Night 28.05.09

We were terrified......what if he didn't sleep, what if he is scared, what if he doesn't like us....our first night home was nerve wrecking. Between hubby and I we must have checked on him a hundred times.......well, he slept through the night in his crib, only waking for one bottle....ahhh, the first night and how well he slept, now the little one is a monkey at night time and is currently refusing to sleep anywhere but in the big bed.....not his cosy duvet crib or his cuddly toddler bed...in the BIG double bed....smack dab in the middle!

Here are pictures from his first day home, exploring and playing!

Seriously, he loves brushes!
