Changes

Due to changes in our family and life, I have decided to start a new blog as there is a new set of people wanting to know about Ryan and I'd like to keep some things that I've written about private.....So, please join us on our new spot for all the updates and how life is going now that we are four!

Going

This are going ok with this transition....We are visiting Ryan, he's getting excited to see us and we have fun together. Yesterday we had him here for the day. He was to be here for 10 and we were to drop him off at 4, then proceed to my brother's for his birthday party. He wasn't dropped off until 11:45 and we were told he could stay with us until after dinner and bath....to bring him back around 7:30. Then they left....Hubby was in a mood, Adrien was in a mood and I was excited. Finally, a taste of what my family would be like in September....oh man! The poor little guy was beside himself in that he wanted to play and would go from one thing to the next within seconds.....he wouldn't smile or respond to his name (though when he was walking on the sidewalk and got too far, when I requested him to stop, he did). We came in for lunch, KD and hot dogs....he ate well and had a few smiles and giggles...then was rubbing his eyes so we brought him up for his afternoon nap....DISASTER.....he didn't know where he was, he would go from hubby to me trying to escape the room...finally, after about 10 minutes, we decided to skip the nap as he was crying in distress and that's not good for attaching. So we put him in a stroller and took him for a walk but it's a new environment and he wanted to see everything so that didn't work, so we stayed outside to play....a couple of hours later he started rubbing his eyes more so I brought him in. He laid in his crib with his puppy and blanket and laid there....for about a minute before trying to climb out of the crib. I just cuddled him, him putting his head on my chest, just trying to make him feel better. Finally he pointed to the pillow on the bed so I laid him down. Within minutes he was out cold.....we woke him after an hour as we didn't want the nap to interfere with his bed time routine. We had dinner, went outside to play some more....came in had a bath, then pjs....took some pictures and headed back to the foster home. He was happy to see them....I wonder what tomorrow will be like....when I go to pick him up....will he cry? Stay tuned!

Cuteness

I thought it would be a good idea to give something to Ryan that he could have at the foster home that he could bring here with him. I asked Adrien to pick somethings. Adrien chose Curious George and a cozy blanket that he had been sleeping with. Today, Ryan's foster mom sent these pictures to us.....Really????? I have two sons that are going to be lady killers......they are so beautiful! Two more days and I get to lay my eyes on him and meet him.....I can hardly wait....this is really happening....it really, really is!

Adrien and Ryan

After we found out that Ryan would be joining our family, hubby and I raced over to the daycare to tell Adrien and show him a picture of Ryan.  I brought Adrien into the small front room where hubby was waiting with the picture....Adrien was excited to see his daddy at daycare and went over to him....Hubby showed Adrien Ryan's picture and asked if he knew who the boy was.  Adrien responded no (of course) then hubby went on to say that is was his baby brother....Adrien looked at the picture for a couple of seconds before saying "Now we can have bunk beds and I'll sleep on the top".  It took Adrien about 2 hours to process and think about things before he became ecstatic...he talked to Ryan's picture about everything....showed anyone who looked his way about his new brother....kept telling me that in 4 sleeps Ryan would be coming home....He was happy....and that's what hubby and I wanted. Aside from our needs to parent another child, we wanted to give Adrien the opportunity to grow up with a sibling...Adrien woke up Friday morning saying that he missed Ryan and wants Ryan to come home....he slept with his head at the foot of the bed so he could look into the crib, practising for when his brother is there.  He is on cloud 9!
Yesterday we met with the foster parents....Adrien was so excited because he thought Ryan would be there, though was great playing with all the novel toys in the room.  Adrien brought Ryan his Curious George monkey so that Ryan could love it and bring it home with him.  When asked what Adrien should buy for his little brother, he responded "Blah, Blah"  Blah Blah is a sort of sock monkey that Grandma gave to him.  He travels with him, sleeps with him and loves that monkey.  He wanted the same for his little brother.
Today we went to WalMart   and Adrien got to pick what he wanted to get for Ryan.  He picked a Sock Monkey and then asked if I could buy matching Mickey Mouse pj's!  I love that kid.....and cant' wait for Ryan to come home too!
